Railways to operate 196 ‘Festival Special’ trains; 7 in NFR

Guwahati, October 14 (MExN): The Ministry of Railways has approved running of 196 pairs (392 trains) of “Festival Special” services, including 7 in Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) zone to clear the festive rush of passengers.

These special trains will be operated from October 20 to November 30, informed a press release from NFR Chief Public Relations Officer, Subhanan Chanda.

The fare for these Festival Special services will be that applicable for special trains but there will be no unreserved coaches in the train, it said. 

Passengers must download Aarogya Setu App, and strictly observe social distancing both at the station and on trains, it added. 

Wearing of face covers at the entry and during travel is a must and only asymptomatic passengers with confirmed tickets will be allowed to enter the Railway station/board the train.

Date of operations of these special trains will be notified later.

1.    02517 / 02518 Kolkata – Guwahati- Kolkata Tri-weekly special express
2.    02505 / 02506 Kamakhya – Anand Vihar-Kamakhya daily special express
3.    02513 / 02514 Guwahati – Secunderabad-Guwahati weekly special express
4.    05611 / 05612 Guwahati – Silchar – Guwahati Tri-weekly special express
5.    02343 / 02344 Sealdah – New Jalpaiguri – Sealdah daily special express
6.    03141 / 03142 SEaldah – New Alipurduar – Sealdah daily special express
7.    09601 / 09602 Udaipur – New Jalpaiguri – Udaipur weekly special express
