Residents of Zunheboto seen during the rally for total sanitation at Suruhuto town on April 20.
Dimapur, May 8 (MExN): Rally on total sanitation campaign was organised by Suruhuto Town Students’ Union under the sponsorship of WSSO, PHED at Suruhuto town on April 20.
Adhoc Town Council Suruhuto, chairman Shivikhu Shikhu was the special guest of the rally. Er G Mughalu, SDO, PHED Zunheboto division spoke on communitisation, its target and the steps to be initiated in the future. Kiyeshe Chishi, IEC consultant, Zunheboto division spoke on sanitation, negative impacts of unhygienic condition and its measures, importance of cleanliness and the ways to keep the village and town and its surroundings clean. Benathung Tsopoe, chemist, Zunheboto division spoke on the prevailing water quality, ill effects of water borne diseases and its preventive measures while Er V Mughalu, JE PHED Zunheboto division spoke on departmental activities, its targets and the works undertaken by the department at the district level.
A press note issued by Er Inashe Kiba, executive engineer stated that more than 700 students from different schools participated in the rally.
Total sanitation campaign rally on water and sanitation was also conducted at Satakha town on April 18 which was organised by Satakha Range Students’ Union under the sponsorship of WSSO, PHED.
Dr. Hohishe Yeptho, principal, Highland Higher Secondary School, Satakha was the chief guest. Er Vinili SDO, PHED Zunheboto division, Kiyeshe Chishi, IEC consultant Zunheboto division, Benathung Tsopoe, chemist, Zunheboto division and Er V Mughalu JE, PHED Zunheboto division also spoke during the programme which was attended by more than 1000 school.
