Pfutsero,  July 25 (MExN): The Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) team from Phek successfully screened 760 students during their recent health screening initiative in Pfutsero. The team, led by Medical Officer Dr. Avono Medoze and comprising ANM Rukhevinuo, GNM Vekupolu, and RBSK Coordinator Kotshou, conducted the screenings at Pfutsero Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) and Government Middle School, Pfutsero.

The RBSK, an initiative under the National Health Mission, aims to provide comprehensive healthcare services to children from birth to 18 years. The program focuses on the early detection and management of four key categories: Defects at birth, Deficiencies, Diseases, and Developmental delays, including disabilities.

The overarching goal is to reduce child mortality and morbidity, improve nutrition levels, and ensure the holistic development of children. During the screening on July 19, the RBSK team evaluated 650 students at GHSS and 110 students at GMS. The comprehensive screenings included the distribution of necessary medications, performing extractions of deciduous teeth, and providing referrals based on the individual needs of each student.
