Dimapur, September 3 (MExN): A re-orientation training of Health Committees on Community Action for Health and Nutrition (HCCAH&N) was held at Pimla Village Council Hall on September 3. The training was organised under Nagaland Health Project (NHP) and co-ordinated by DPMU NHP Dimapur.


A press release issued by the Kimnei, District Media Officer, Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Dimapur stated that the programme was organised to re-orient the members of Health Committees and also to review the performances of the Health Committees.


During the training, the Health Committee members were re-oriented on the project design and objectives. The target indicators for VHC, HCMC and HSCMC were discussed with emphasis on analysis of target achievements till date by each Health Committee. Besides reorienting the members on the roles and responsibilities of the Health Committees, the importance of documentation of reports and records of all activities was also stressed. Verification process and Health System Development for Health Facilities were also conveyed to the members, added the release.


Dr K Vikato Kinimi, Chief Medical Officer Dimapur also urged the Health Committee members to utilize the facilities provided appropriately for the development of the village and the people. He encourage the Health Committees to continue being transparent in their work and also improve their performances to avail all the benefits. The Resource persons were Imlimongla, District Facilitator (Peren) and Menguzenuo Sechii, Consultant NHP, SPMU. Health Committees of Pimla H&WC, Dhansiripar CHC, Ghowoto VHC and Zutovi VHC participated in the Re-orientation training.
