Reconciliation table eclipses Eastern Nagaland: ENSA

Dimapur, July 21 (MExN): Monitoring the present burning issue in Naga society, the Eastern Naga Students Association (ENSA) reminded right thinking Naga people that whoever in touch with the Naga political issue should be far sighted and possess inclusive political vision. “In a nutshell, we (Nagas of present Myanmar) are Nagas not by choice but by right. It is not something that we want to become as a Naga. We were Nagas Yesterday but we are Nagas today and we will be Naga tomorrow wherever we are, maybe in Burma, India or China” stated a press note issued by the Students’ Association.

ENSA also said that their stand for Naga political cause is not negotiable and religious exploitation, force labour, ill treatment and human rights violation imposed upon eastern Nagas by junta government of Burma therefore is an impact of our all out support to Naga issue. Therefore, the Student association believed that to neglect/ ignore Eastern Nagas at any stage would mean politically- a lie against own people, humanly- a crime against one’s fellow being and theologically- a sin against God.

“The latest agenda and last hope for the Nagas in Naga national movement is reconciliation among all political groups spearheaded by FNR where all Naga NGO’s, church leaders and political leaders involved”, said the students’ Association but also added that it is clear that no Eastern Naga representative has officially invited to be a part of it though we support logically and morally to Naga reconciliation and unity move throughout the times.

In this connection the ENSA requested and suggested all responsible leader to enlarge their vision and look at all angles so as not to sum up their relentless effort in some corer because Nagas are not only in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Manipur but also in Nagaland and in Myanmar. “We want Naga leaders to apply same yard stick cautiously because to miss out any group or community in this crucial stage is a greatest mistake in Naga history. For the Nagas in general, it is a reminder that Naga Political issue as such has a multi complex and very sensitive for which the boys of yesterday cannot jut take for a ride without knowing genealogical fact since it is a costliest issue that involves thousands life, blood and tears, king and queen.” stated ENSA in the note. ENSA further stated that after six decades of struggle for Nagas movement and for self determination, if ‘we are apparently ignored we will be compelled tot take our own course of stand. People can no longer take us for granted and never expect the passion of eternity.’
