ENSF to boycott teachers test

Dimapur, February 9 (MExN):
  The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has decided to boycott the teacher-recruitment under the School Education department drive from February 11 in the four districts Tuensang, Mon, Kiphire and Longleng. In spite of “many representations”, the department is yet to fulfill and address the grievances of six communities of the eastern regions of Nagaland. The ENSF issued a note informing of the action decided upon, today.  All the units of the ENSF are directed to ‘prepare’ and organize volunteers for the boycott. The ENSF also apologized to all aspiring candidates from the region “for the inconveniences caused”. The ENSF urged candidates to “contribute” and participate in the agitation “so as to avoid further unnecessary complications.”  The organization has cautioned the department in concern “to take responsibilities of any situation arising out of the matter.”

Nagaland Village Guards’ honorarium enhanced

Dimapur, February 9 (MExN):
  The monthly honorarium of the Nagaland Village Guards has been enhanced from ` 500 to ` 1500. “…may be of little or no importance to a regular employee of Nagaland, but it is indeed a giant leap in the perspective of the Nagaland Village Guards personnel. We are indeed overwhelmed by the life altering step taken for the welfare of the Nagaland Village Guards and we sincerely do hope for the better in the days to come,” stated a press note issued by Manhoa Konyak (BHM, Mon V/G), Mosa (BHM, Tuensang V/G), Toklang (BHM, Longleng, V/G), Throngenchu (BHM, Kipheri, V/G) and Jolet (BHM, Meluri, V/G) on behalf of the Nagaland Village Guards.

Western Sumi to observe 100 years

Dimapur, February 9 (MExN):
The 100 year’s centenary of Western Sumi Phuthe Kuwo will be celebrated on February 11 at Niuland town. Neiphiu Rio, Chief Minister, will grace the occasion as chief guest and inaugurate the centenary Khagho at 10:00 am. while G. Kaito Aye, minister for Road and Bridges will be the guest of honour. Azheto Zhimomi, MLA and advisor of  Sericulture and Co-operation will unveil jubilee monolith at the office of Western Sumi Hoho, Chekiye village at 7:00 am. Rev. Dr. Hevukhu Achumi, director, SBC will pronounce the dedicatory prayer.  Rev. S. Vitoshe Swu, executive secretary, WSBAK will say the invocation prayer for commencement of main celebration junction. MLA Azheto will deliver welcome address. Students of Trinity Theological College, Thahekhu will present special number and L. K. Achumi, president WSH will propose vote of thanks. Presentation of Sumi traditional and cultural items will also mark the occasion.

KPC meet on Feb 10

Dimapur, February 9 (MExN):
The Kohima Press Club (KPC) will hold an emergency meeting on February 10 at KPC at 1:00 pm  to discuss matters pertaining to the summon of its member, Oken Jeet of NEPS by three legislators from Mon district. KPC president, KV Nurumi has requested its members to attend the meeting positively.

Star multipurpose co-operative society Kohima informs

Kohima, February 9 (MExN):
Star multipurpose co-operative society Kohima has informed to all the members wanting to rent/open shops in the society building which is being converted into a mini market, are requested to write an application to the chairman, or contact the office bearers on or before February 15. This notification has been issued by general secretary, Star multipurpose co-operative society, K Agunuo Pienyu.

GPRN/NSCN informs

Dimapur, February 9 (MExN):
  The office of the GPRN/NSCN union territory –I has informed that one Bike XCD 125 CC, bearing the chasses No. MD2DSJBZZPWG 36911, engine No.JAMBPG 38521 is in their custody at the Khehoi Designated Camp. Therefore, the rightful owner is informed to claim the same producing the original documents and driving license within seven days.

PACSU meet on Feb 11
