GTC to represent Assam in national Chess champ

Unmilita Das and Mayurakshi Das of GTC Chess Foundation will represent Assam in the forthcoming 25th National under 9 (boys & girls) Chess Championship 2011 at Bhuvneshwar, Orissa from August 5 to 14, 2011.  According to GTC Director, Bisawjit Bharadwaj, the best two player from All Assam Chess championship Unmilita and Mayurakshi will represent the state in the said championship. The 2010 winners Unmilita and Mayurakshi by virtue of that performance secured the berth for the National will also represent Assam in the National Under 11 Chess championship 2012. Both players are undergoing training under Biswajit Bharadwaj and Nandan buragohain at the GTC Chess Foundation since one year. The GTC Chess Foundation wishes them all the success in the event.

'Remove teak plants'

Dimapur, August 2 (MExN):
Naga United Village Council has informed all concerned denizens of the village to remove “every single” Teak plant before December 2011; failure to which the Council shall take up the future course of action. The Council informed that the drive has been taken up in view of the hazards created by the plant towards the environment.

DSU sales day

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 2 (MExN):
The Dzulhami Students Union (DSU), Phek, will have Sales Day on August 5 and 6, 2011 in aid of its Golden Jubilee at Dzulha Daily Bazaar, Kohima-Zunheboto highway. During the two days, fresh organic vegetables, rare wild edible items & fast foods will be on sale. The union requests all travelers on that route to kindly make a stop and check out the items.

Social work at Phek on Aug 5

Dimapur, August 2 (DIPR):
The Deputy Commissioner Phek, Mikha Lomi has issued a circular informing all concerned that a mass social work will be conducted on August 5 starting from 8:30 am onwards. In this connection, the DC has therefore requested all Head of Offices/staffs/Institutions and colonies at Phek to give full co-operation and compulsorily participate in the mass social work. The DC further mentioned that attendance for all government employees would be taken on the same day.                    
                                                                                                                         
Peren VDB on wareness tour

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 2 (MExN):
The Peren District VDB Association has expressed its heartfelt gratitude to the Nagaland VDB Association for paying their kind visit and conducting educative programme in Tening, Peren and Jalukie town. The VDB association of the district has wished that such programmes, guidance and coordination be intact even in the days to come.

Kiphire DPDB meet cum farewell prog

The monthly meeting of Kiphire District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) Cum farewell programme of outgoing Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kiphire, CM Tsanglao is convened on August 5 by 11.00 am at the office chamber of DC, Kiphire. A press note issued by District Planning Officer (DPO) Kiphire, S.Akho Theyo, requested all the concerned members to attend the same positively.
