World brotherhood/sisterhood day

Kohima, February 20 (MExN):
The state headquarters staff of Nagaland Bharat Scouts and Guides will celebrate the birthday of Lord & Lady Baden Powell on February 22 at the state headquarters’ office at Bayavü Hill,Kohima at 12:00 noon. All the concerned have been cordially invited to the programme. Flag hoisting will be held at 11:45 AM follow by invocation prayer by Khyomo Lotha, welcome address by Zakieo Metha, state secretary, significance of the day by Vimezhonu SOC (G), speech by M.Sale, Retd.SOC (G) and vote of thanks by Kholie Dolf, SOC(S).

Handicraft exhibition underway

Dimapur, February 20 (MExN):
A 10-days handicrafts exhibition at Razuphe, Dimapur has been going on from February 16 and will continue till February 25. The Naga Handloom Society , Kohima had organised the handicrafts exhibition cum sale under the sponsorship of the o/o Development Commissioner (H), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, informed a press note.

Defence Minister leaves for Manipur
 
Dimapur, February 20 (DIPR):
Union Defence Minister A K Anthony after visiting Rangapahar base 3 crops military station on February 18 has left for Manipur early Saturday. Anthony was sent off by Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, Maongwati Aier, SP Dimapur, Zekotso Mero, GOC Rangapahar 3 Crops N. George and other officials. Anthony is being accompanied by Army Chief General VK Singh, Defence Secretary Pradeep Kumar, and Eastern Commander Lt.Gen Bikram Singh.

Men’s Fellowship on March 12

Dimapur, February 20 (MExN):
Dr. Nuvocho pastor, CBC, ED in a note has invited everyone interested to the Men’s Fellowship organized by the Chakhesang Baptist Church Council Dimapur Area which will be held on March 12, 2011 at Naga United Baptist Church. A press note informed that the arrival time is 8:00 am and Rev. Dr. V.K.Nuh and Rev. Dr. P. Dozo will be the speakers.

Training on Technology Backstopping conducted

Dimapur, February 20 (MExN):
The office of the Programme Co-ordinator Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Tesophenyu conducted one day training on Technology Backstopping at Ziphenyu village on February 17. The training was sponsored by Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Kohima. A press note issued by programme co-ordinator, KVK Tesophenyu, G.Ikuto Zhimomi informed that around 25 trainees representing Benzin Farmers Club, Sagozhe Farmers Club and Keso Logwa Self Help Group (SHG) participated in the programme. The note mentioned that in the technical session, the resource person Dr. Temjennungsang, subject matter specialist (Vety & AH) spoke on the topic ‘Backyard farming of poultry’ with special reference to Kuroiler. While, Longmayanger, subject matter specialist (Agriculture Extension) gave a power point presentation on Agriculture scenario in Kohima district and its prospects. The other highlight of the training included a film show on potato seed production. The programme was chaired by Imtisenla, Subject Matter Specialist (Agronomy) and the vote of thanks was pronounced by Ani Chairperson Keso Logwa SHG.
