
DIMAPUR, JAN 6 (MExN): Regionalism is the “right answer” for the people of Nagaland and the people should adopt this ideology if they are to march ahead with the times, said Khekiho Zhimomi, Nagaland Industries Minister.
The minister, one of the senior-most in the regional party NPF, was speaking at a cultural programme at Khuzama village, organized by Youth Club of Khuzama village, which he also inaugurated, today. Minister Zhimomi in his inaugural address called for regionalism in the state which he said is “the right answer”. The NPF stalwart urged the people to adopt the ideology of regionalism in the state as it is the right answer and so that the people can march ahead with new times only with a regional government in the state. Nagaland is enjoying the fruit of recognition and after a gap of several years with a regional party-led government, he reminded. He added that the NPF-led DAN coalition government under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio in Nagaland has served the people of the state with visible developments.
The minister also lauded the members of the youth club for having organized such a relevant event, with an aim to preserve the rich cultural heritage of the village. He exhorted the gathering saying that “Nagas are fortunate to have rich culture and that the people must put in their sincere effort to preserve and safeguard it for the future generation to come.” He later donated 1 lakh to the organizers of the programme.
