Relief distribution for daily wage earners begins in Kohima district

The relief distribution for daily wage earners/labourers under Kohima district began at Khuochiezie Local Ground on June 14. It was launched by Kohima Deputy Commissioner & Chairman DDMA, Gregory Thejawelie. Around 50 beneficiaries received the relief items for the day. 

Through Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), the dry ration relief package has been issued to mitigate the economic problem/hardship faced by daily wage earners/labourers and needy families in the entire State by the Government of Nagaland.

The distribution will continue for some days, according to Kohima District Administration.

The relief package consists; rice-10 Kgs, lentil- 1 Kg, Kholar/Naga Dal- 1 kg, M Oil- Half Litre bottle, sugar- 1 kg, Salt- 1 kg, Tea leaf- 200 grams, bath soap-2 piece, washing soap-2 piece,  masala - 1 pack 100 grams, onion and garlic- 1 kg and  chilli powder-100 grams.

In Kohima district, a total number of 7000 beneficiaries of daily wage earners have been listed till date from various wards and colonies under Kohima Municipal area and rural areas.

Under administrative sub-division/circle, Chiephobozou has been allotted 700 beneficiaries, Tseminyu – 700, Jakhama – 300, Sechu Zubza – 300, Botsa – 300, Kezocha – 200 and Tsogin – 200 and the remaining 4300 beneficiaries will be from the Kohima Municipal Area and Kohima Sadar. ADC Kohima, Bhavani Sri flagged off the relief distribution for the sub-divisions under the district.

A team of officials from district administration including the staffs, DDMA, F&CS, Police, NYK and volunteers from various organizations have been engaged in the relief distribution.
