Dimapur, May 13 (MExN): The Religious Kilonser of the NSCN (K) today declared that that he would never accept the point of view that as a Christian he should love his enemy against the creation of Nagaland for Christ as it is better to go to heaven as a Naga then to hell as somebody.
A press release received here from, Religious Kilonser, NSCN (K), Chowangsing Pangmi stated, “I am a Christian but even in the name of Christianity, if Sumis, Aos and entire Naga tribes come to me and say, ‘As a Christian, love your enemy (India and Myanmar) or anybody against the creation of Nagaland for Christ’ I will never accept that.” Supporting his stand, Pangmi stated, “My identity enemy and spiritual enemy will be separately dealt for the glory of the living God who has led the Nagas against the mighty Indian and Myanmarese armed forces. Because it is better to go to heaven as a Naga then, go to hell as somebody.”
Sharing his own view about the bible verse ‘love does not envy’, Pangmi stated, “the destruction at Mokokchung and Purana Bazar can be termed as an act of envy but the reaction of Sumi people and Neiphiu Rio’s DAN government seems to be an act to compensate and even make Tangkhul beggars very rich out of rehabilitation.”
In this regard, the release stated that the Nagas fail to fully understand the exact meaning of the bible and act vice-versa and added that word enemy here is referred to the ‘spiritual enmity or enemies of faith and not earthly enemies’.
“Every Naga consider Myanmarese, Indian and Tangkhuls as enemies of the Nagas then because of identity and freedom but if we really say we must love our enemies then we should stop fighting even India, Myanmar and Tangkhuls who are agents of occupational countries,” stated the release.
Spelling out his views on the word ‘enemy’, Pangmi stated, “I believe, the word ‘Enemy’ is someone who can be my father, my mother, brother, sisters, uncles, aunties, sons and daughters or closest friends who are threat to the spiritual integrity and not that of an ‘identity’.” In this regard, Pangmi demanded the Ao and the Sumi community of Nagaland to be very clear and convey the same if they want to live with the Tangkhuls and delink with the Nagas, as ‘Nagas can never become Meities, Assamese, Indian,
Myanmarese or others but Nagas alone,’ as that is their birth right.
The declaration of the NSCN (K) Religious Kilonser gains significance as it comes in the backdrop of the April 22, ‘Fiery Sunday’ incident at Wungram colony in Dimapur. Attacking the Sumi leaders, Chowangsing Pangmi said that it is said in the bible ‘love is partient, love is kind, it does not envy’ however, the ‘very acts of the Sumi people at Purana Bazar seems to be just the opposite. The Sumi people imitated the Aos of Mokokchung and tomorrow, some tribe will follow in the footprint of Sumi people’
The Religious Kilonser of NSCN (K), Chowangsing Pangmi, wondered “if the Naga, the different Church denominations think that Tangkhuls are Nagas then, we all must realize why the Aos, Chakhesang and NSCN have issued a ‘Quit Notice’,” the release stated and added that ‘the activities against the Tangkhuls were minor compared to Mokokchung incident’ and “how” the NSCN (K) Ato Kilonser, N Kitovi Zhimomi and Chaplee Kilonser, Kughalu Mlatonu’s houses ‘were bombarded at Zunheboto for three days and three nights’. In this regard, the release questioned, “Has the NSCN suffered anything lesser than the Tangkhuls in Purana Bazar?”
The release stated that today, the mindset of the Sumis have changed against the Nagas and in this regard, stated that the Sumi leaders like Scato Rotokha, Aheto Yeptho, Hokiye Yeptho, Akavi Zhimo will break up the Sumi kingdom for the sake of Tangkhuls.
Chowangsing Pangmi stated, “I need not comment on Dimapur but Zunheboto too is heading towards bloody disaster because of the sins of the Sumi Hoho leaders.” He added, “But remember if they do not be careful, their sins will be upon the head of their children.”
Furthermore the release, quite unintelligibly, stated that just as Moses was not allowed to reach the Promised Land for the sins of Israel, “God may reject may tomorrow reject the Sumi people just as the 22nd April Revolt was instigated by all the Naga tribes but all they all began to condemn the revolt because of the few leaders of Sumi Hoho and Western Sumi Hoho.”
However, the release clearly questioned that if the April 22 incident at Purana Bazar “revolt against the persons having links with terrorists and anti-Christians was so grievous to Sumi people and Nagas then, were the ‘live’ attempts on the families of Ato Kilonser, N Kitovi Zhimomi a drama?” in this regard the release cautioned, “Don’t try to deceive God by acts of pretensions and imitations just as the Sadducees and Pharisees” stated the Religious Kilonser of NSCN (K).
