DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 22 (MExN): The Rengma Hoho (RH) and Rengma Selo Zi (RSZ) today informed that for the past few days certain elements were disturbing the labourers and authorities involved in the ongoing widening of National Highway 2 under Tseminyu Sub-division. As such, work has become slow, informed a press note from the Rengma Hoho.
The two organizations therefore appealed to all individuals, organizations and any other elements to restrain from doing such act. “The ongoing Widening of National Highway project is a long pending demand of the Rengma community and the painstaking effort of the people. Therefore any elements trying to create any situation by way of threatening, extorting etc, the Rengma community at large shall take that as a direct challenge to the hard effort of the people in ushering development in its area,” it stated.
The two organizations affirmed that the Rengma people “shall not tolerate any such act to sabotage the development in its area” and warned that “defaulter shall be dealt strictly in an appropriate manner.”
