Restore traditional Naga territories: UNTABA

DIMAPUR, MARCH 18 (MExN): The United Naga Tribes Association on Border Areas (UNTABA) in an executive committee resolved that Naga people irrespective of National political affiliations, tribes or organizations shall firmly stand on implementation of ‘9 Point Agreement’ so as to restore all the “traditional and historical Naga territories.”  

It resolved that any agreement(s) on the Indo-Naga political issue must be made on the basis of the “historical realities of the land - the land that belongs to the Naga people.” The meeting further urged the Nagaland State Government to vigorously pursue the fulfillment of Point No. 12 & 13 of the ‘16 Point Agreement’ so as to restore and amalgamate all the Naga territories. The meeting urge the Government of Nagaland to allow the State Law and Justice Department to handle the ‘Civil Suit No. 2 of  1988’ along with the Border Affairs Department. It then asked for local administrators in the border areas.
