Restriction on printing of pamphlets and posters

Mokokchung, April 15 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner & Returning Officer Mokokchung, Lithrongla G. Chishi has directed all the Printing Presses in Mokokchung town to strictly observe the provisions of the Section 127 A of the Representation of the people Act 1951 in regards to printing of pamphlets posters etc during the bye-election to 26-Aonglenden Assembly Constituency stating that printing of election pamphlets, posters etc is governed by the provisions of Section 127 A of the Representation of the people Act 1951.
The Returning Officer therefore, directed all printing presses to indicate clearly in the print line the names and addresses of printer and publishers of any election pamphlets or posters and the printer should send the copies of the printed materials (along with three extra copies of each such printed materials) and the declaration obtained from the publisher as required under Section 127 A (2) within three days of its printing.
She said any violation of the Provisions and the direction of the Election commission shall be very seriously viewed and stern action, which may in appropriate cases include even the revocation of the license of the printing press under the relevant laws of the state.
