I am determined to write this article in the interest of Mr. Luke Krishta who wrote an open letter to Mr. Kaka and in the larger interest of our people and.
All Christians know that God led Israelites out of Egypt. That's He led them out of the paganism, slavery and suppression so as to make them free to worship Him. So also God has protected Naga people from the influence of Paganism such as Hinduism and Buddhism in the past more than 2000 years as He doesn't want us to be under the rule of idols worshipers, and thus He bestowed the sovereignty to the Naga people which make clear to all of us that God has His own purpose for the Nagas. In view of this point Mr. Kaka has encouraged the Church leaders to speak for our nation.
We have well experienced of God's protection and His leading in the past more than fifty years of war with our enemy. Only because of His protection and leading till today the mighty enemy could not defeat us and we are proud of a nation and as the children of the living God. When we say the Nagas are the children of God, a sovereign people, Nagaland does not belong to India but the Nagas, it doesn't go against India or an insult to the Indians. And these are not deceiving words to the Christians, Pastors, Reverends, and doesn't meant to fight against India by AK 47, or to make Nagaland as Nigeria, Afghanistan or Somalia. When God has already given us the freedom and chose us as His own children, why do we need to afraid of speaking for our nation?
The Kachin Christians, Pastors and Reverends have never afraid of speaking or praying to God for their freedom (in Kachin- Awngdawm). They said, as they accepted Jesus Christ as their savior, they are now the children of God, a chosen people, called them out from the darkness to His marvelous light by their God Almighty. (1 Peter 2:9-10). As God hears their prayer their conflict with Burma is now internationalizing. Even their General Gum Maw has been invited by the foreign Ministry of American in the last month April 2014.
The fact we know that in the war between Nagaland and India, God our Lord has intervened the war through the Church leaders when Nagaland reached to the brink of its doom and saved our nation in 1975. But we have spurned His compassion and profaned His glory. And the Church leaders also did not say the truth that God has saved our nation and brought peace to Nagaland. Thus God our Lord has thrown us into the dungeon where we have been killing, deceiving, enmity and hatred against each other. If we glorify His name and thank Him for His abundant mercy and compassion on us, we might not have been suffered in the hands of our own people.
I appreciate that the Nagaland Church leaders had done a lot for our Nation in the past just as the Kachin Church leaders are doing for their own nation by now. But I feel something had gone wrong with our Church leaders after 1980 because they do not speak the truth of the political events and killings among the Nagas after 1980. They failed to clarify the Accord was not a surrender Accord, but God's hands was in that and saved our nation. By clarifying it they might have glorified God our Lord as well. They should not be afraid or ashamed to speak the truth, so that some of Nagas who are on the wrong side may understand what truth is and false. Our Bible says; "To one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin". (Jame 4:17).
