Rilan village turns 25 years; villagers celebrate with jubilation

Dimapur, April 10 (MExN): Rilan village in Dimapur district celebrated its 25th anniversary on April 9 with great fervour and jubilation. TL Merry, Chairman, Lotha Hoho Dimapur attended the event as the chief guest along with hosts of the Hoho officials.  

According to a press release received here, Merry urged the villagers to be selfless as the founders and the donors of the village have been. He emphasized on the aspect of hard labour put in by the early settlers. Appealing to the villagers to dedicate themselves for the good of the society, the chief guest further stressed on upholding honesty and hard labour so that the society, especially the Rilan villagers, attain greater heights in the days to come. He also refreshed the gathering on how the village came into being.

  Mrs. CY Kithan, one of the donors of the land, also narrated the early history of the village and thanked the pioneers, especially TL Merry and his team, for putting hard work in making the village a reality.  

Earlier, Lisemo Merry, who chaired the programme, summed up the history of the village. Greeting messages were read out by the chairperson on behalf of CY Kithan, retired Addl. Secretary (Home) and Thungbemo Lotha, retired IGP.  

Rev. Moses Murry, who invoked God's blessings upon the people, advocated for unity so that God's grace and mercy may be felt by the villagers.  

Yanthamo Ngullie pronounced the vote of thanks, while John Lotha, Catechist, Holy Trinity Church Dimapur, prayed for the villagers during the concluding prayers.
