Dimapur, Oct 24 (MExN): Reiterating that jobs under the state government have reached a saturation point and that the only vacancies available now are mostly those against superannuation or demise, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has acknowledged the role of private sectors in complementing job opportunities in the state.
Speaking at the inaugural programme of Indian Institute of Job-oriented Training (IIJT) at IMC Complex, Dimapur October 24 Rio said: “it makes good sense to set-up job-oriented training institutes in our own state so that more people can avail such opportunities with less cost. As we are all aware, jobs under the state government have reached saturation level. We cannot go on creating new white-collar jobs under the government and so the new jobs available under the state government are mostly against retirement vacancies only. So we have to create or find jobs for our ever-growing educated youth outside the government sector”.
He said that it was for this reason years 2004 and 2005 were declared ‘year of youth empowerment’ where the government undertook initiatives to equip Naga youths with the right skills for self-employment as well as for employment in the private sector.
