Rio clears Election Commission scan

Imphal, April 7 (NNN): Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio has cleared the Election Commission’s scan on his alleged hate speech, while on campaign in Tamengong. Chief Electoral Officer Manipur, O Nabakishore informed media persons today that the Election Commission has seen the video recording of Rio’s Tamenglong speech and viewed that there was no violation of the Model Code of Conduct. Congress legislator, N Biren had lodged a complaint to the Election Commission of India (ECI) against Neiphiu Rio for his alleged violation of the election model of conduct by making communal statements during his poll campaigns in Tamenglong and Senapati. The CEO said they will now look for the video recordings of Senapati and Ukhrul, where Rio had addressed poll rallies.
