Dimapur, June 13 (MExN): Rishav Sethi, son of Ajay and Anita Sethi of renowned NIIT Dimapur center, cracked IIT JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) Advanced 2016 which is believed to be the toughest exams in the world.
He is perhaps the only IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) aspirant from Nagaland to achieve this feat this year. He is a 5th generation non-naga indigenous citizen of Nagaland whose forefathers settled down in Dimapur in the 19th century. His family was the first one to set up an industry in the state in the form of a rice mill.
A press note informed it is expected that Rishav will be called to Delhi for counseling in the 2nd week of July 2016 to take admission in one of the most prestigious institutes in the country out of the 23 IITs.
It may be noted that 12.07 Lac aspirants for IITs appeared JEE Main 2016 out of which 1.98 Lac students were selected to appear IIT JEE Advanced 2016 which was held on May 22. Rishav had scored 192 marks out of 360 in JEE Main 2016 for which cut-off was 100 marks for the general category of students. All India Ranks as per JEE Main 2016 will be declared on June 30, 2016.
Earlier, Rishav scored 94% marks in CBSE’s Class XII exams this year. He was the National Topper in Class X with 10 CGPA from Hollotoli School in the year 2014. So also, his sister Divya Sethi is the National Topper this year with 10 CGPA from Hollotoli School, Dimapur. Rishav aspires to take up computer science to pursue his B.Tech from the most prestigious institute of the country. It’s a dream come true not only for him but for the whole of Sethi family and all the well-wishers.
