Dimapur, February 28 (MExN): The Rongmei Naga People’s Organisation (RNPO) and Rongmei Council Nagaland (RCN) have expressed “shock” and “deep sorrow” at the demise of the 6-and-a-half year old girl who was raped at Chiningkhul under Bishnupur Police Station, Manipur on February 15.
The RNPO and RCN in a joint statement strongly condemned the heinous crime and said, “Such dastardly act on a minor girl allegedly by a 14-year-old boy is unimaginable. It can only happen from a person with perverted and morbid mind.”
The two organizations urged the law-enforcing agency to through the case thoroughly and award “befitting and exemplary punishment” to the culprit so that such dastardly act does not occur in future. The organizations also extended solidarity to the parents of the victim and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
