Dimapur, March 31 (DIPR): Thousands of patients across the state of Nagaland are availing the free medical facilities through the Rotary Rahat Medical Mission at District Hospital Dimapur where a team of 20 highly skilled doctors from outside are providing quality surgical intervention.
The Medical Mission which began on March 28 has till the 4th day registered more than 3000 plus OPD patients and the team of doctors has so far conducted around 120 operations including plastic surgery. More than 1200 patients are getting themselves registered daily with great rush in the registration counter. Chairman, Rotary Rahat Medical Mission, Rotarian Dr. Nitin Agarwal has informed that still 100 more surgeries are lined up for ortho, general surgery, urology cases, eye, gynecology etc and the doctors are operating 60-70 patients in a day.
Stating that more and more operation cases are coming up daily, Dr. Nitin appealed to the public for donating blood for a noble cause.
It may be mentioned that prior to the medical mission, the Rotarians organized a blood donation drive at Dimapur but since blood requirement per day comes to 20 plus units, Dr. Nitin felt the need for scaling up blood donation for conducting more surgeries as just around 70 units of blood is left in stock. Anyone above 18years and willing to donate blood for a noble cause can come in the blood bank of District Hospital Dimapur, which will be open 24x7. Dr. Nitin Agarwal further appealed to the patients specially from interior districts requiring surgery to come and avail the free medical benefits and informed that routine blood test, ECG, X-rays, operations and various investigations are all provided free of cost.
Speaking to DPRO, Dr. Nitin expressed gratitude to the CMO, local doctors, nurses of Dimapur District Hospital and Referral hospital for extending support and cooperation since day one of the Medical Mission. Observing the ongoing Rotary Medical Mission as the biggest mission, taking place in the North East, Dr. Nitin lauded the positive response extended by the Government of Nagaland, various NGOs, churches and the local people for assisting and guiding in every possible manner.
The Rotary Rahat Medical Mission will go on till April 5. The main objective of the mission is to provide quality health care catering to the mass population.
