RPP appeals DoSE, state govt to do away with proxy teachers

Dimapur, February 26 (MExN): The Rising People’s Party on Saturday said it was shocked at prevalence and practice of proxy teaching in almost all the government run institutions of the State which it said was “one of the most important reasons for the deprivation of ‘Quality Education’ among the future generation of the Nagas.”

In a press release on Saturday, the party lauded the Zunheboto Range Students’ Union (ZRSU) for boldly standing against the practice of proxy teachers in the state’s educational system. “It is high time that the students’ communities and organisations stood for what is right with regards to the Nagaland government educational system and to demand for urgently required changes,” it said.

In this connection, it appealed to the Department of School Education and the state Government to take prompt action with regard to the genuine issue raised by the ZRSU and to do away with the malpractice. The Party also appealed to the District Education Officer as well as the SDEO of Zunheboto to “stop fiddling around with the future of the young students and to look into the matter at the earliest.”
