During the Financial Year 2017-18, a total amount of Rs 60 crore was released on two occasions for implementation of Local Area Development Programme (LADP) for 11 districts in the State and other expenses.
The first release amounting to Rs 45 crore was made on December 13, 2017 and the second release of Rs 15 crore was made on March 26, 2018 by the Budget & Monitoring Cell, Finance Department.
A copy of the two Drawal Authorities available with The Morung Express shows that Mokokchung district received the highest allocation amounting to Rs 987.50 lakh followed by Mon at Rs 888.75 lakh and Rs 691.25 lakh each for Kohima, Zunheboto and Tuensang.
Out of the Rs 60 crore, Rs 60 lakh was released as a “contribution to Legislators’ Forum on Aids,” while Rs 15 lakh was released for “Administrative Expenses.”
Varied monthly entitlement of DPDB heads
In addition to their monthly entitlements as MLAs, Ministers and other appointments, all the 11 DPDB Chairmen also receive certain amounts as monthly entitlements. However, not all DPDB Chairmen receive equal amount per month if one has to go by a copy of the DA released by Finance Department dated December 18, 2017.
A break-up of the amount released mentions that DPDB Chairmen of Phek and Mokokchung received Rs 25, 900 per month for eight months while the rest 9 Chairmen received only Rs 19, 500 for the same period during 2017-18.
Meanwhile, as per the DA dated March 22, 2018, all the 11 Chairmen received equal entitlements of Rs 25, 900 each per month for the remaining four months for the year 2017-18. It is unknown whether it was a case of the monthly entitlements for the 9 Chairmen being hiked and brought at par with the two Chairmen or the latter two enjoyed special status for the first eight months.
