
State Police advises swift filing of complaints on CFCFRMS
Kohima, January 28 (MExN): Since the launch of the Cyber Financial Cyber Fraud Management and Reporting System (CFCFRMS) helpline number 1930 on February 1, 2022, Nagaland Police has successfully frozen Rs 1,20,91,314 from 2,006 accounts involved in cyber financial frauds.
A press release from Nagaland Police on January 27 stated that the helpline has received a total of 943 complaints so far, with victims reporting fraud amounting to Rs 8,84,27,305.
In this connection, the police highlighted the effectiveness of the 1930 Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Management and Reporting System (CFCFRMS), a helpline number which a victim of cyber financial fraud can call and report their complaint by providing details of the debited/credited accounts, the amount of money lost, and transaction details.
Upon filing a complaint, the bank accounts or e-wallets of the fraudsters can be frozen immediately, and a legal mechanism for reimbursing the lien amount can be availed if the money is blocked from the fraudsters’ account, it added.
To this end, Nagaland Police further advised victims of cyber financial fraud to immediately call 1930 and report their complaint before the fraudsters spend or transfer the monry, while simultaneously reporting to the nearest police station.
