A two days training on RTI for PIOs and APIOs underwent today with Deputy Commissioner Kiphire Sedevihko Khro inaugurating the programme at the DC conference hall. The training is organized by the District Administration and the ATI Kohima.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, the DC said, “RTI is a good tool and is like PIL which is for transparency and accountability but Naga people are using it for selfish motive and money.” He asked the officers to be alert so as to avoid unnecessary advantages from the applicants.
Sharing his experiences, the DC also said, “Before I was assigned to Kiphire, I have to face two State Information commission because the PIO and the APIOs fail to give the correct information.” He encouraged the officers present to be aware of the act so that the service to citizens is fulfilled.
The DC also said that RTI is filed in almost every department in Nagaland and applicants knows better than the department and asked the HODs present to learn and refresh more on the Act so that daily affairs of the government is solved smoothly and also appeal the departmental heads to pass the right information to the applicant.
SDO (C) Benjamin who coordinate the program welcome the gathering and asked the officers present to be sincere and attentive so that the training is fruitful.
