Peren, September 14 (MExN): Sainik School Punglwa observed Hindi Pakhwara (Hindi Fortnight) with the objective of developing and refining their linguistic skills of the cadets.
A press note stated that the event which began on September 1 included competitions such as general knowledge test and essay writing for classes VI and VII and essay writing, quiz and debate for classes VIII to X.
The main attraction of the event was the debate competition for cadets of class IX and X on the topic; ‘Entrance of girls cadet in defence academies is a preparation for bright future’. After a very enthusiastic and enthralling competition, Saramati House emerged as the champion of the Hindi Pakhwara. Tizu finished second while Japfu and Patkai shared the third position.
In the debate competition Cdt Viveknanda Sagapam of Saramati House and Cdt Passang Joshua of Tizu House stood first in ‘for’ and ‘against’ respectively. In the quiz competition Cdt Ravi Kumar and Cdt Ujjwal of Saramati House stood first and Cdt Kohang Guing and Cdt Aditya Kumar stood second. The fortnight event ended on September 14 with the Principal giving away the prizes and trophy to the winners.
