DIMAPUR, APRIL 13 (MExN): The Sainik School Punglwa Annual Inter-House Football Championship 2017-18 for Sub-Junior category concluded on April 12. The championship was played on league cum knock-out basis. Melak House emerged as winner in the final and bagged the gold medal. Gp Capt Sharad R Keskar, Principal, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and gave away the medals and certificates.
The final match which was played between Melak House and Japfu House showed a stiff fight. Japfu dominated the match during the first half and managed to lead with a solitary goal. But ten minutes before the end of the second half Melak scored the equalizer and managed to keep the balance till the final whistle. Finally, the match was decided through a penalty shoot-out in which Melak won by 3-2. Kedosetuo Pienyu of Melak House was awarded the best player of the championship. Patkai House finished third in the championship.
