Peren, December 9 (MExN): Sainik School Punglwa celebrated its Xth Annual Sports Day on December 9. Minister Dr Neikiesalie Nicky Kire, Minister PWD Roads and Bridges graced the occasion as the chief guest for the closing ceremony. Er Khupi Natso, Engineer-in-Chief, Government of Nagaland was also present.
On the concluding day of Xth Annual athletics and sports meet, finale of some of the track events viz 100 meter, 400 meter, 4x100 meter relay and 200 meter race for cadets in different categories were held, in addition to a tug of war and musical chair for the parents. Cdt Piwoto Z Awomi clocked the 100m in 12:63 seconds and became the fastest cadet of the school. Patkai House lead by House Master Henminlal and House Captain Khrisavil Ltu lifted the Inter House Athletics and Sports Trophy of the year 2017-18.
Later, the chief guest gave away the certificates, medals and the trophy to the winners in various events. A press release received here stated that ‘VYWOM Voice of Young Warriors of Morong’ the half yearly magazine of the school was released by the chief guest.
The function was also attended by various dignitaries and proud parents of the cadets of SSPN. Bringing the curtain down of the annual sports day, Sqn Ldr Sanjeev Kumar Chaudhary, Vice Principal, extended the vote of thanks and the meet was then declared closed by the chief guest.
