Zunheboto, October 3 (MExN): Sumi Aphuyemi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu (SAKK) and Kukami Hoho, Pughoboto have condemned the rape of a physically challenged woman in her 60s allegedly by one Mutibur Rahman last month in Pughoboto sub-division.
In a statement from its president, Kuputo Shohe, the Kukami Hoho expressed “anger and disgust” at the criminal act. It further demanded that the accused be given prompt and befitting punishment as per existing norms of the Nagas or the laws of the land. The state administration was also requested to immediately take necessary steps to prevent such acts in the future through exemplary and severest punishment.
Meanwhile, SAKK asserted such gruesome crime should be condemned by one and all. A statement from SAKK president, Khekuto V Achumi and general secretary, Inushe Assumi demanded the authorities and law enforcing agency to award befitting and exemplary punishment to avert recurrence of such crimes. SAKK also affirmed its support to the 3-point resolution passed by All Sumi Students’ Union to chase out illegal immigrants from Zunheboto district jurisdiction.
