Kohima, March 2 (MExN): Samagra Shiksha Nagaland (SSN) today conducted one-day training programme for the members of School Management Committee (SMC) & School Management & Development Committee (SMDC) at DUDA Guest House Longkhim under Tuensang district.

Keyileuteing Ndang, EAC Longkhim while delivering speech expressed concern over the status of education of government schools in the state.

He said, “A good education is the doorway to opportunities” and challenged the SMC/SMDC members and school heads to introspect on their roles as managers of schools and work hard to ensure quality education in the block.

Kelhikha Kenye, Deputy Mission Director, SSN while delivering keynote address shared on the objectives of conducting the training programmes for the SMC & SMDC members in the EBRCs to create wide community awareness and to capacitate the community leaders on various programmes and activities implemented by the Mission.

Kenye informed the members that accuracy of school data in the Unified District Information on School Education (UDISE) is extremely critical as all the planning exercises in school education are based on UDISE data and urged the school heads to ensure correct data entry in the 2022 UDISE exercise.  

He also stated that due to COVID pandemic and closure of schools during 2020 & 2021, learning losses faced by the students is a serious concern for all and urged the community leaders and school heads to work hard to make up for such learning losses.

The resource persons from the State office made power point presentation on various components - UDISE, NEP 2020, Inclusive Education, Vocational Education, School Safety and Security, Utilization of Composite Annual  School Grant, COVID SoPs, Library, School Development Plan and Vidyanjali portal.

The programme was led by Temjenmeren, Project Assistant EBRC Longkhim.

Similar programme will be conducted at EBRC Noksen, Hakushang, Shamotor and Noklak, according to Kelhikha Kenye.
