Sangma seeks vote for ‘secularism’ and ‘development’

Meghalaya Chief Minister and chief of NPP Conrad K Sangma campaigned for the second consecutive day in the hill area under Rajabala constituency and sought to vote in favour of “secularism” and “development”. 

He said that people should not divide themselves into caste politics and vote for candidates who will work for the overall development of the region.

He has been stationed in the area since Wednesday to unite the voters of the hill area to vote in favour of NPP candidate Abdus Saleh. 

In the ensuing by-election scheduled for October 30, of the 5 candidates in the fray, two are tribal candidates and they have been seeking vote based on the community tag. 

Conrad Sangma asserted that NPP will win with a thumping majority and there should not be room to communalise election and vote for a party that was popularised and founded by Lt PA Sangma. 

He also said that the NPP should be proud of everyone in Garo Hills and work unitedly to strengthen the NPP.
