Dimapur, April 26 (MExN): Sanmati Mahila Parishad organised a five-day sports event titled “Grand Sports – Season 6” in Dimapur from April 18 to 22, with participation from around 120 members of the Marwari community.
The event featured competitions in cricket, badminton and carrom, with women participants showcasing their sporting skills. The tournament was held at Jain School Ground, Jain School Hall and Mahavir Sthal.
IAS officer Shreyanshi Jain inaugurated the event with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in the presence of office bearers of Jain Samaj, Mahila Samaj, Sanmati Mahila Parishad and Jain Ahinsa Samiti.
During the programme, senior members of the Samaj were felicitated and presented with gifts by the organisers. The event was coordinated by sports secretaries Jyoti Modi, Kalpana Jhanjhari, Manisha Kala and Pinky Sethi, while members of the management team played key roles in organising the activities.
Support from members of Namokar Vikas Mandal, along with volunteers, ensured smooth conduct of the competitions, including implementation of rules.
Sanmati Mahila Parishad president Anita Gangwal and secretary Seema Sethi expressed gratitude to the chief guest, sponsors, participants and supporters for contributing to the successful conduct of the event.
