Sao Chang College hosts webinar on Indian Knowledge Systems

TUENSANG, JUNE 3 (MExN): A one-day webinar was organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in collaboration with the Department of English, Sao Chang College, Tuensang on May 30.  The resource person of the seminar was Dr Kamdev Jha, former Principal, DAV (PG) College, Pehowa (Kurukshtra), Haryana. 

A press release issued by media cell, IQAC said the resource person Jha elucidated on how the Indian knowledge systems comprising of Jnan, Vignan, and Jeevan Darshan evolved out of experience, observation, experimentation, and rigorous analysis. 

Emphasizing and reviving IKS in academia and higher education can instill a sense of cultural identity and self-respect among students and scholars, he stated adding that this will help reconnect with India's historical roots and ancient scientific developments, fostering a deeper appreciation for indigenous knowledge and its contribution to global thought. 

Highlighting on the relevance of IKS, Jha reminded that the NEP 2020 recognizes this rich heritage of ancient and eternal Indian knowledge and thought, which would be a guiding principle in disseminating the rich legacy of timeless Indian knowledge and philosophy.
