DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 16 (MExN): The 43rd annual sports week of Sao Chang College, Tuensang culminated on September 15, 2017 at the parade ground with TY Sangtam, president USLP gracing the closing function as guest of honour.
A press release issued by M Shiu, media cell in-charge, Sao Chang College said the guest of honour while addressing the closing function said there is equal prospects in the field of sports as is in education and urged the students to give efforts to avail these opportunities and become professional sports men and women.
Another perk of being a professional sportsperson is that one can get opportunities to explore different places within and also outside the country, Sangtam stated. He also stressed on the need for students to develop a sense of hard work and sincerity to achieve life goals while pointing out that no success will come to those who are lazy in life.
The guest of honour also handed over the trophies and certificates to the winners. The closing function was chaired by Beti Chemden and brief remark on behalf of the teachers was given by Akyuba Sangtam, Assistant Professor.
During the three-day sports event, various outdoor and indoor games were played. The theme for the sports week was “Soar towards the goal”. The students were divided into four houses namely- Red Falcons, Green Hawks, Blue Kestrels and White Eagles.
