TUENSANG, November 30 (MExN): With the aim to spread awareness through reading, Sarvahitey’s library project was introduced in Mokokchung and Tuensang districts by Sarvahitey in collaboration with Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) from November 26 to 29.
The Sarvahitey team was led by Prem Prakash, Director of Kids’ Heaven School and Co-Founder of Sarvahitey Foundation, while Limasenla Longkumer and Esther Aye, Master Trainers NSLSA represented NSLSA.
In Mokokchung, the project was introduced at Fazl Ali College, Ungma village Legal Services Clinic, Yaongyimsen Village and Akhoya village. In Tuensang it was introduced in Hakchang Sochum School and Chingmei Sochüm School.
The first stage of the library would consist of books and cater to everyone wishing to avail the services. In the second stage, computers will be put up and interested people will be trained on MS Word, Excel, Photoshop, PowerPoint etc.
The third stage will see introduction of projector through which various educational videos can be shown. It can also be used to promote awareness about various government schemes available to people. This will go a long way in empowering the communities, a press release from the NSLSA informed.
It may be mentioned that the team identified Mokokchung district to set up the first Sarvahitey’s library project.
DLSAs render various legal services
The Mokokchung District Legal Services Authority (MDLSA) organized legal awareness seminars at Yaongyimsen Village and Akhoya village on November 29 and Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung District on November 28. During the seminar, Phuleto Yeptho, JMFC and Secretary MDLSA announced that a Legal Literacy Club will be set up at Fazl Ali College Mokokchung. Meanwhile Zunheboto District Legal Services Authority also organized legal awareness programme at Sub Beam School on November 24. Tovi Yeptho, Retainer Lawyer ZDLSA was the resource person.
