Dimapur, October 5 (MExN): St. Anthony School (SAS) Tenyiphe celebrated its parents’ day on October 5 with various performances from students honouring the parents.
“It was held in a grand way to convey their love and gratitude to each parent for their support and sacrifice made to let their children pursue their goals and live their dreams,” a press note from the school informed.
Officer on Special Duty to Government Of Nagaland, NSDMA Home Department Johnny Ruangmei was the chief guest of the event.
Speaking on the theme of the celebration, Ruangmei said it was very important day for a student to tell how much they are grateful to their for providing every need they require to become a good citizen.
While appreciating the parents for walking extra mile to let their children live their dreams, he also urged the parents to remind themselves everyday that more than the school they owe a bigger responsibility in shaping the life of their children.
"Our children today live in a very advance technological era so both the parents and teachers should be well updated and prepared in bringing them up to be a responsible citizen, if not, it may have a destructive impact," he added.
Ruangmei also requested the parents to encourage their children to utilize their talent and ideas not only to get a government job but also to advance in the field of technology for a better earning.
As a student if you don’t know where you are going and what is the purpose of your life you will be lost one day, he added.
Earlier, the parents were entertained with a delightful folk song, cultural dance, choreography and beat boxing.
Welcome speech was delivered by Principal Rev. Fr. Sajan Joseph, speech on behalf of the parents by Head GB Tenyiphe Nolesa Zhotso and vote of thanks was given by SAS Vice Principal Rev.Fr.Dominic.
