Kohima, April 18
One saw mill was completely burnt down on April 13 in Chizami under Phek district. Source said property worth over Rs. 25 lakhs was destroyed in the fire. The cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained at the time of filing this report.
Minister for youth resources & sports Merentoshi Jamir, who was in Chizami that day for the closing ceremony of 4th Chizami Cup as chief guest, had visited the incident site.
Meanwhile, the Chizami Adhoc Town Committee thanked all the people/administrations/departments who helped during the incident to contain the fire from burning more houses in the vicinity.
It also thanked minister for youth resource & sport Merentoshi Jamir, 5 AR Chizami, 98 RCC Chizami, Fire Brigade Phek, SDO (Civil) Chizami, Colo Mero Director, Life Ministry, Police Station Chizami, N.P and NAP, all vehicle owners of Chizami area, PHE/power department and citizens of Chizami Town, Sumi Village, Chizami Village, Enhulumi Village, Mesulumi Village.
