SBI donates chairs to Municipal Affairs, agrees to collaborate

Kohima, August 20 (MExN): The State Bank of India (SBI) donated executive office chairs to the Municipal Affairs Department under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative for 2026-27 on August 20. Both sides further agreed to explore collaboration for the benefit of the public.

The handing-over ceremony was undertaken by SBI DGM (B&O), Jorhat, Narendra Pratap Singh, along with SBI officials, and Director Temjenrenla Kechu and officials of the Municipal Affairs Department in Kohima. 

As per the State DIPR, during the handing-over, Director, Municipal Affairs, Temjenrenla Kechu, expressed gratitude to SBI for the gesture and discussed the services provided by the bank, including housing loans and other schemes. 

She highlighted the importance of solar street lighting and waste disposal trucks in towns and requested SBI to consider providing such facilities under its CSR initiatives in the future, if possible, it said.  Both further agreed to collaborate and work together for the benefit of the general public, it added.
