Scattered light rain activities in Nagaland until January 28: NSDMA

Kohima, January 27 (MExN): The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Home Department has informed that many parts of the State would receive scattered patchy light rain activities until January 27 or 28.

The weather will clear up thereafter, the NSDMA stated in an update from its Joint Chief Executive Officer, Johnny Ruangmei.

However, it further forecasted a below normal day and night temperatures until first week of February.

“Minimum temperatures in Kohima will remain between 4 and 6 degree and maximum will be 16-17 ℃ until January 29. Thereafter, there will be a gradual increase,” it added.

Significant weather activity is not expected until end of February and day temperatures would start increasing post February 10 and days will become comfortable and sunny, NSDMA stated.

However, morning and night would remain cold over hilly regions especially Kohima, Phek, Tuensang and cool over plain areas such as Dimapur, it added.

The NSDMA attributed the present weather condition to cyclonic circulation over Bangladesh and also the western disturbances remnant from the Himalayan region.
