Dimapur, August 25 (MExN): Salesian College of Higher Education (SCHE) hosted Bosco Singout 2019 in its campus on August 25. Around 200 students in and around Dimapur turned up for the event.
The programme began with the solemn Eucharist presided over by Dr Fr Peter Salew SDB , Director of DBYES, Province of Dimapur, stated a press release from SCHE.
He explained the narrow door, meant love of neighbor, ten commandments and following the crux of Christian teachings in the new testament.
The mass was enriched with a choir of residential students of SCHE. Highlights of the inaugural ceremony included garlanding the statue of Don Bosco, lighting of the lamp, welcome speech, Scripture reading and motivating talk by the Youth Director, Fr Christudoss and felicitation of the judges of the programme: Deacon Daniel SDB, Martha UFS and John SDB.
The Singout was held with 10 participants: 7 in the English speaking session and 3 in Hindi. The winners of the English speaking were: Diphupar – A (Rongmei), Dhobinala – Zeliangrong village, Samaguri and Ebenezer. The winners in the Hindi speaking was a tie between Singrijan and Lahorijan. Director of SCHE, Fr Thomas SDB motivated the students at the end of the programme.
