Dimapur, September 17 (MExN): Salesian College of Higher Education (SCHE) youth department sensitized the hostellers of Holy Family, Thahekhu on the ill effects of tobacco with SCHE Lecturer Daisinlung Sebastian Kamsuan as the resource person on September 17.
In his multi-media presentation, Kamsuan pointed out some deadly effects of tobacco: diseases of the mouth, tongue and teeth; cancer of the lip, wind-pipe, and throat; damage of blood vessels; heart attack and stroke, said a press release.
In the second session, based on the life story of Armstrong Pame, Kamsuan motivated the students to do their daily normal duties with enthusiasm and to have a clear vision of what they want to become five or ten years down the line.
The participants consisting of 20 boys and 4 girls of classes 10-12 took a pledge to say no to tobacco and help other people to live a healthier life, according to the release.
At the end of the programme, in-charge of Holy Family hostel, Polycarp said words of appreciation. The event was coordinated by Fr. Christudoss, SCHE Youth Director, Bro. Isaiah Newme and Bro. Khraw Burom Wanniang.
