Schools in Nagaland join ‘Largest Robotic KIT making training’ World Record attempt

Around 900 students from  various educational institutions in Dimapur and Kohima today joined other cities across India in the attempt  to create World Record of ‘Largest Robotic KIT making training’ on August 31. 


The All India Council for Robotics & Automation (AICRA), the organiser of the event, is reportedly set to apply for Guinness World Record (GWR), World Record India (WRI) and Limca Book of Records – for ‘Largest Robotic KIT making training (multiple locations).’


In Kohima, 400 students of participated at the daylong event organized by AICRA in association with Technoxian and  St Mary’s Cathedral  Higher Secondary School (SMCHSS) Kohima at the school’s premise.  The workshop robotics conducted by the Technoxiam team.

The event was inaugurated by Principal Secretary School Education & SCERT, Menukhol John and witnessed among others, by the Chairman of Nagaland Board of School Education, Asano Sekhose and the Principal Director of School Education, Shanavas C, IAS.  


A press release from the Bishop House, Dimapur informed that Menukhol during the speech said that ‘Robotics is the need of the hour and will have a growing demand in the future.” He also lauded SMCHSS for being sole school in the Kohima to hold the event, it said. 


It was informed that the programme was conducted by AICRA in eleven locations in India from 10 am to 4 pm where 36,000 students participated in the training which included the assembling the different parts of robots and programming them to follow the command.


In Dimapur, approximately 500 students participated at the event held at two locations - Holy Cross Higher Secondary School, Dimapur and St Mary’s School.


Other participating schools were Rincho Academy, Assisi School HSS, St John Higher Secondary Residential School, DPS, Hollotoli HSS, Greenwood HSS, Highland Hall School, Great Commission Kids Academy, St Clare’s HSS.  The next event of the Robotic training will be held in the month of October.
