Kiphire, February 22 (MExN): A workshop on science and technology popularisation among ST population of Nagaland was held at Agape Higher Secondary School Kiphire today which was organised by Government Polytechnic Seithekema 'C' Chümoukedima.
Giving keynote address, Er Imlitongzuk Jamir, HOD, Civil Engineering, Government Polytechnic Seithekema C Chümoukedima disclose that out of 16080 HSLC student in 2023 only 15% opted for science 77% opted for arts and 8% opted for commerce. “It is discouraging to see such a figure,” he remarked while adding, “We should have curiosity in science and maths.” He also told the students, “Today’s seminar should give a spark in each student present here so that you rethink and make right choice.”
Anjali Dhaka, a Youth Ambassador at ECO-NETWORK INDIA, Deputy Coordinator at UBA Cell MIT, and District Coordinator at GLOBAL SCIENCE was also a resources person. Dhaka demonstrated on impact of adulterated food on health and other products which we use daily.
