Longleng, August 1 (MExN): KVK Longleng, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region organized a daylong technology showcasing cum scientist farmers’ interaction programme on July 29 at KVK adopted Hukphang village. Altogether, 105 farmers participated in the programme.
Speaking as chief guest, Angoi Phom, APMC Chairman Longleng appealed to the farmers to participate in such programme in large scale. He further assured the Longleng farmers help in marketing their produce.
A keynote address on different successful technology extended by KVK Longleng in the farmers’ field was depicted by Dr. P. Chowdhury, SMS (SWCE). He also presented the problems in agriculture field before the intervention of different KVK technology.
Neem Oil was distributed to all the farmers and training was given on its application.
In feedback session, a woman farmer, Phailong informed that she has been trained on oilseed and pulses cultivation and value addition of pulses at KVK Longleng, which will be very much helpful to improve their livelihood.
After the inauguration of technology showcasing programme, a scientist–farmers’ interaction was held, during which, different queries and issues on agricultural problems were discussed.
