Dimapur, December 11 (MExN): SD Jain Higher Secondary School, Dimapur celebrated its 70th annual day on December 11 with parents, students, Jain Samaj Executives, other community leaders, media and office bearers from different organizations.
Sushil Kumar Patel, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his address, Patel highlighted the changing scenario in the field of education with the advent of internet and mobile phones. He urged the students that one need to have the passion to come on top through constant effort and hard work. He requested the parents to give quality time to their children and remarked that parents also play an equal role with teachers in shaping the future of a child.
He appreciated the SD Jain Samaj for the valuable contributions they are making to the society in the form of providing quality education to the students through their educational institutions like the Higher Secondary School and Girls College.
Ajay Sethi, Secretary, School Managing Committee delivered the welcome address. He asserted that the Jain Samaj will continue to support the school in whatever way possible to provide quality education to the students.
Reji Abraham, Principal presented the school annual report highlighting the various programmes and activities conducted in the school. A total of 120 students who won prizes in different competitions held in the school and Class Toppers were felicitated during the program by the Samaj Executives, Office bearers of various wings of Jain Samaj with mementoes and certificates. Payal Kumari Sharma, the 4th State Rank Holder in the HSSLC Examination 2017 in commerce stream was felicitated by the chief guest with cash rewards, memento and certificate.
A well choreographed cultural programme was presented by the students. The program was hosted by Kazheli Yeptho and Jolly Reji. Vote of thanks was delivered by Mrinalini Chakrabborty, Teacher-In-charge of Primary Section.
