Dimapur, March 25 (MExN): SD Jain Higher Secondary School thumped G. Mhaisiu School by 139 runs in the final of the Dimapur District Inter School U-16 Tournament at NCA, Stadium, Sovima on Sunday to become the champions from among 12 participating schools. Electing to bat after winning the toss, SD Jain managed to post 211 in 30.5 overs. Sujal Prasad was outstanding with the bat smashing 124 runs for SD Jain. He was assisted by Sumit Paul (16) and Jeetendar (12). For G. Mhaisiu, Kavito and Ranjan both picked 2 wickets each. In the run chase, Salim and Ajay ripped through the G. Mhiasiu batting line up bundling them out for a paltry 62 runs in 15 overs. The duo returned with 4 wickets each. Mustafa with 22 runs was the only batsman who offered some sort of resistance to the SD Jain bowling attack. SD Jain’s Sujal Prasad who scored a total of 210 runs and picked 8 wickets during the tournament was awarded Player of the tournament. DDCA informs schools, colleges Meanwhile, the Dimapur District Cricket Association has informed interested Higher Secondary Schools, Colleges and Clubs to register for the Dimapur District U19 tournament before March 29. The tournament will be conducted in the first week of April and will be played with red cricket ball and white dress, the DDCA informed. A player should be born on or after 1.9.1999 and should be above sixteen years of age. Copy of Birth certificate, Aadhaar card, and HSLC Admit Card are to be enclosed with the registration forms.
