SEBI and AMFI organizes regional seminar on Investor Education on Mutual Funds

Morung Express News Dimapur | September 21   The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) jointly organized a regional seminar on Investor Education at Hotel Acacia, Dimapur on September 21.   The main objective of the seminar was to create awareness on generating wealth smartly through mutual funds. The Regional Director, S. Madhusudhanan spoke about the role and responsibilities of SEBI in regulating Indian capital Markets while also cautioning the participants to avoid investing in unregulated agencies. He also explained the benefit of investing rather than savings as savings are not safe from inflation.   Balkrishna Kini, Deputy Chief Executive of AMFI and Debashish Mohanty, President and Country Head Retail and Investor Service Management of the Unit Trust of India (UTI) Mutual Funds made presentations on Mutual Fund Investments.   The speakers further touched on the various investment options, the importance of asset allocation and the benefit of investing in Mutual Funds.   The seminar was participated by about 150 investors and it ended with a discussion among the speakers and the participants.
