Peren, February 24 (MExN): The second phase of Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) was held in Peren on February 23 at District Hospital with Dr. Tiala Longkumar, Deputy Chief Medical Officer administering the first polio drops. A press release from District Media Officer, CMO office informed that the IPPI was successfully carried out in the whole district.
The whole operation was monitored by supervisors comprising of Dr. Tiala Longkumer, District Program Officers, UIP/RCH, Dr. Khrielasanuo and medical officers in their respective block. Officials from Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Kohima, Dr. Longai, Dy. Director and Benjungtoshi, RCH Coordinator, NRHM came as observers for Peren district. The staff of Chief Medical Officer’s Office and Medical Superintendent Office took the initiative in carrying out the operation in and around Peren Town. The overall target is to immunize 13,293 children across the district
