Security raids violate CGR: GDRN/NNC

Dimapur, October 3 (MExN): The GDRN/NNC (NA) on Sunday issued a press release clarifying that Kiyelu Yepthomi, whose private residence at Padumpukhri village was reportedly raided by the Assam Rifles on September 22, was not a member of the organisation.

“It is clarified to all to the concerned and especially to security forces that Kiyelu Yepthomi is a mere public and is not working under any civil or Naga Army wing of our government,” the organisation’s MIP stated.

It further stated that “It is very insensitive on the part of the security forces to carry out raids one after another,” especially at a time when Indo-Naga peace talk is on the verge of conclusion and the Nagas are eagerly waiting for the final solution. “Therefore, it is urged upon the security forces not to harass the public while discharging the duties, as such unfounded raids brings insecurity to the general public and violates the Ceasefire Ground Rules,” the release stated.
