Athibung, July 30 (MExN): A one day seminar on harmful effects of tobacco on women conducted in Athibung was conducted by the Kuki Baptist Association Women Department, Nagaland along with the National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) Peren Team at Yettrang Academy, Athibung on July 26.
Dr. Sabino Kuotsu, District Nodal Officer, NTCP took time to create awareness on harmful effects of Tobacco on women.
Dr. Sabino gave the keynote address with a power point presentation on the harmful effects of tobacco on women. She highlighted about the alarming situation of Tobacco users in the State. She requested all the participants to create intensive awareness on harmful effects of tobacco and to disseminate awareness to the community about the ill effects of tobacco consumption and encouraging all to be proactive in this social awareness campaign. She also encouraged being assertive on Christian perspective to keep one’s body from abusive substances and to avoid all that the bible says is bad and abstain from them.
The NTCP team Peren took the opportunity of the seminar to be utilise as a platform to create awareness to the public especially to the womenfolk in general.
